Climbing Mount Kenya

DAY 1
Morning transfer from Nairobi , arriving at Lodge for lunch. In the afternoon is a nature walk (3-4 hours) through the forest to the MauMau caves, the former hideouts for Kenya 's pre-independence guerrilla fighters who fought against the British colonial masters. The escort naturalist guide for the trek talks about their history and the flora and fauna of the forest. Dinner and overnight at Lodge 

Day 2
Leave the lodge by 1000hrs together with your guide and porters and drive for less than two hours to Sirimon Park gate (2600m). On completion of park entry formalities, have picnic lunch then begin a 3-4 hour hike through forest. Ascend 700m bypassing the bamboo, rosewood and heather zones to Old Moses camp. The forest and bamboo are home to hundreds of buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks and a plethora of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Camp (3300m) 

Day 3
A long day leading to the base of the high peaks. Today's trek is largely through the moorlands and the Mackinder Valley , with good views of the main peaks and a brief stopover for picnic lunch. Total walking time is approx. 7 hours gaining 900m in altitude. Dinner and Overnight  at Shipton's Hut (4200m) 

Day 4
Pre-dawn attempt of the summit starts at 0300hrs and you hike for about 3 hours up steep scree slopes and across rugged rocks up to Pt. Lenana (4985m), the hikers' summit. Then down through Lewis Glacier up to the Austrian hut to join to the Naromoru track and descend for 2 hours to Mackinder's camp for breakfast then have the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight  at Mackinder's Camp (4300m)

Day 5
Leaving early, you gradually descend for 4-5 hours through the moorlands and the lower vertical bog up to the Met Station, from where you walk down on a wide dirt road leading to the Naromoru Park gate (2600m) where you meet our vehicle. You are then transferred back to Mountain Rock Lodge for a hot shower and lunch. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. 

Day 6
Morning at leisure. Chance for horse riding, nature walks, sport fishing, boating etc. Lunch then return to Nairobi.

Kenya Coast Safari

Day 1
Depart Nairobi after breakfast for Tsavo West National Park, the home of famous Lions nick named “man-eaters of Tsavo” .Arrive in time for lunch at the Severin Safari Camp. Spend the afternoon relaxing before proceeding for evening game drives. Return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight stay (accommodation is full board).

Day 2

Depart for Mombasa and Malindi, our sea ports where you will find Reptile sanctuaries, Haller Park, Mamba (crocodiles) village and Marine parks.

Day 3 & 4

Spend the two days visiting the above attractions within Mombasa and its environs.

Day 5

Depart Mombasa for Nairobi (about 7 hours drive) with lunch en-route arriving late afternoon for your return flight.

The cost will be based on : Accommodation and meals, transport and game drives with a driver guide, Park entry fees (In Tsavo only), Airport transfers in Mombasa, one night accommodation in Nairobi on return from Mombasa.

Excluded: Entry fee (minimal) to various attractions while in Mombasa and beverages, tips and personal expenses.

Kenya's Great Rift Valley Safari

Lake Nakuru National Park/ Masai Mara 5 Days – 4 Nights
Day 1
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International airport where you are met by the Great Rift Tours crew and transferred to a city hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2
Depart early after breakfast and drive north for 4 hours along the Great Rift Valley and proceed to Lake Bogoria having viewed Lake Naivasha, Lake Elementaita and Lake Nakuru en-route. Lake Bogoria is known for its Hot springs and Geysers dotted around the southern shores of the lake. These are sulfur waters gushing out the ground and known to have therapeutic values hence are natural spas and steam bath/sauna. This is home to Africa’s most magnificent antelope, the greater Kudu and host of other savannah wildlife; Zebra, Impala, Dikdik, and Patas monkey among others. Flamingos are also on site. The predators found here include Leopard, Cheetah, Hyena, Jackal & Mongoose.  The Lake has been described as the jewel of the Great Rift Valley.

After exhaustively sight seeing features of Lake Bogoria you proceed to Lake Baringo about 50kms from Bogoria & 75kms north of the Equator for lunch and overnight stay. The Chocolate Lake laps gently at 26 acres of gardens whilst crocodiles bask and hippos snort their stories just 50 yards offshore. But above all lake Baringo is birds, birds and more birds. Over 460 species have been recorded here. Spend the afternoon at the pool side. At the end of the day you will have viewed five lakes in the Great Rift Valley.
Day 3
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National park (via Menengai Crater) for morning game drives. This is home to the beautiful pink flamingoes and a rhino sanctuary. Other wild animals include; Zebra, Lion & Buffalos and Leopards. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the pool side and enjoying evening game drive. Lunch and overnight stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 4
After early breakfast depart for the world famous Masai Mara. And drive along the bottom of the Great Rift Valley to arrive at a lodge within the game reserve in time for lunch. After a short rest, proceed for evening game drive in search of Masai Giraffes, black manned Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Cheetahs, Buffalos and other plain game. Return to the lodge in time for dinner (accommodation is full board).

Day 5
Early morning game drives with a visit to the spectacular great migration across Mara River from Serengeti. Have an optional visit to nearby Masai village. After lunch more game drives with nature walks in the evening. Return to the lodge in time for dinner.

Day 6
Depart Masai Mara and drive leisurely to Nairobi with lunch enroute. Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon for Overnight accommodation (bed & breakfast) in a city hotel.
